Carnaval Del Sol, a yearly three-day festival, recently brought a taste of South America to Vancouver in the largest event of its sort ever held in the Pacific Northwest.
The two-week celebration of Latin culture began on July 8th and lasted until July 10th. The festival's theme this year was Flora and Fauna, and nations from all around South and Central America participated in the cross-cultural fest. Attendees enjoyed salsa, samba, and other types of Latin music in the outdoor festival setting. The event also featured a variety of delectable food stands and captivating cultural acts for the audience.
VCAD was proud to be one of the event's private sponsors and take the opportunity to give back to the community where our staff and students live, work, and attend school. At VCAD, we celebrate diversity and creativity – which is exactly what Carnaval Del Sol is all about.
To showcase our dedication to investing in art, culture, and the community, VCAD held a $8,500 tuition voucher draw at Carnaval Del Sol.
