here to help is a mental health resource established in 2003 that was created by the BC Partners of Mental Health and Substance Use Information, which is comprised of 7 non-profit agencies. Their mission is to provide online resources including health authority program contacts, podcasts, videos, educational events and personalized assistance with just the click of a button. They are indeed here to help in any way they can with evidence-based information, and a plethora of discoverable and customizable options. The current problem with their main logo is that their symbols are too small to be recognizable as hands, as well as the communication of what this means is lost in translation. The colour discrepancy and contrast between the grey and green creates a non-intuitive focal point for the eye. Despite being around for 20 years and having a large online audience, their resources are not well-known amongst the general public. The goal is to change their brand identity to better and more consistently share information in a consistent, informative, and clear manner so that their target audience can locate them easier.

This project offered an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a real-life client based in Calgary, Alberta—James, a highly skilled and experienced DJ. While James had an impressive portfolio and strong local presence, he lacked a cohesive visual identity to represent his brand. As a Graphic Designer, I was brought in to develop his branding from the ground up. Designing a bold, versatile logo, eye-catching promo materials, and a sleek, professional website that captured both his personality and his presence behind the decks. The goal? To create a brand that not only looked great, but connected—visually and emotionally—with his audience. From color palettes to typography to layout, every design choice was made to reflect his style and help him stand out in a crowded DJ scene. This collaboration was all about turning sound into visuals and making sure James’s brand hit just as hard as his beats.
