Located across 12th Ave Se from the Calgary Stampede Grounds, The Saddledome, and the newly renovated BMO Convention Center, this 11-story boutique hotel’s brick exterior will fit in perfectly with the neighboring warehouse buildings. Amalgamating rustic charm with the traditional aesthetic of Kate Reed’s Canadian hotels, modern room amenities, and conveniences like smart lighting and bedside charging outlets balance the past, present, and future to create the ultimate cultural experience for guests.

This design aims to create a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of British pub culture while also reflecting the vibrant community of Davie Street. Stepping into our establishment, patrons will be enveloped in a fresh, inviting atmosphere that evokes a sense of warmth and camaraderie, while maintaining a connection to nature. The centerpiece of our concept is a charming outdoor garden patio, where patrons can unwind amidst lush greenery, enjoying their favorite drinks and hearty fare, while embracing the laid-back spirit and conviviality that defines the essence of a traditional pub experience.

Velvaere stands as a testament to the seamless integration of diverse commercial spaces under a unified design philosophy. Rooted in Norwegian principles of well-being, this space captures the spirit of Velvaere, offering a balanced and sustainable haven where culinary delights and therapeutic experiences converge in perfect harmony. Throughout Velvaere, sustainable design practices are interwoven into every aspect. From construction materials to energy-efficient lighting and waste reduction strategies, the aim is to create a space that not only elevates the well-being of its visitors but also minimizes its ecological footprint.
