Concept: Drought With a bachelor’s in metallurgical engineering, the subject of sustainable practices is at the heart of what I do. My focus as a Fashion Designer is on working with beautiful textiles woven from precious fibers and considering their impact on our world. My concept for this collection is Drought, and I wanted to bring an interdisciplinary approach to my clothing. Sourcing deadstock textiles, I brought them to life using textile manipulations, color applications, and surface embellishments to show the beauty of materials that otherwise would be forgotten

The written language is a beautiful art form, using line and movement as a means of communication. Calligraphy is more than 3,000 years old, using the simple method of ink on parchment paper. Many believe the earliest calligraphy belongs to the Chinese, and others credit the ancient Romans with this style. With Iran as the home of my birth, I have grown up with this rich cultural exchange of meaning and letters, especially inspired by my father’s handwriting. In this collection, the Persian calligraphy expresses the beauty of love, and how when we love someone so deeply, they become our world.
